Review: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Bernie Mac, Elliot Gould, Carl Reiner, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Shaobo Qin, Miguel Perez, and bring Livingston Dell Oceans Eleven, a film directed by Steven Soderbergh in 2001. The film also stars Andy Garcia and Julia Roberts. This is a remake of the Rat Pack Ocean's Eleven, which I have never seen, so I can not make comparisons. The entire plot is unlikely so you have to take it for what it is - a lot of fun. And you never know if something is going wrong or if a part of his plan. The chemistry between the actors, particularly Clooney and Pitt is great, and has some great acting. Clooney Ocean is a solid, passionate man of quiet determination, Damon is terrific as uncertain participants, Don Cheadle, sports Cockney accent is hilarious as an expert in explosives, Elliot Gould as outrageous as their lender, Carl Reiner is excellent with older man who can do accents. Just because they offer all their different talents to the robbery, they do in this film. This includes acting in minor roles played by Bernie Mac et al - are all perfect. Andy Garcia fabulous as Benedict - both stylish and scary, whispers instead of shouts and remains in control for the most part. Roberts megastar wasted - that does not have much potential to be an actor do.Any made on the role, but I think the producers wanted an all-age cast.Highly nurse recommended for the entertainment value of Blockbuster and star power. Just do not try to be realistic.
